About Carmen

A founding partner, Carmen advises major institutions and leading companies on a broad range of issues including strategy, growth, diversity and belonging, and board effectiveness.

 

The hallmark of Carmen’s work with clients is her ability to guide teams to collaborate and work more effectively. She embeds relationship building and change management into her work to create scalable and sustainable improvements in growth and efficiency. Carmen helps drive transformation by overcoming resistance to change enabling solutions to be carried through to adoption.

 

Before founding Stanton Blackwell, Carmen was Senior Vice President and Executive Committee member of Delta Career Education Corporation, where she ran the largest national network of Commercial Driver’s License schools in the country. In addition, she held multiple positions at Fannie Mae serving as Chief of Staff to the CEO and leading regulatory affairs. Carmen began her career in business development at the Corporate Executive Board after spending several years on Capitol Hill.

 

With a passion for community development, Carmen is joining the board of the Arlington Community Foundation in June 2023. She served as Board President for Doorways for Women and Families in Arlington, VA and is a former board member of Dress for Success, Washington, DC. She received her Bachelor of Arts and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
